Does it make noise?
The GPS Tracker doesn't make any noise.
What SIM card provider can I use?
We recommend using a major provider such as Telstra, Optus and Vodafone.
Does the light make it visible?
The GPS tracker does have an LED light, which is turned on for start up, but this will go out in a few minutes. This light is small and can be easily covered with a piece of tape if you are concerned about its visibility.
How long does the battery last?
On a single charge, the battery can last 15-20 days on standby. For daily use when reporting every 90 seconds when moving, the battery life is typically 21 days. If used on an object that moves infrequently (like a boat or a car in storage) the battery life can be approximately 2 months or more.
Do I need a mechanic to install it?
No, you don't need a mechanic as this device has no wiring. You can attach it yourself simply with its powerful magnets. To start tracking all you need to do is install a 3G Call and Data enabled SIM card, pair the device with your phone and download the tracking app.
Does the app cost anything?
You get a free lifetime subscription to the tracking app, you do have to pay for the data the SIM card uses which is usually a few dollars a month. There is no contract and no fees.
Can I use my phone to watch the tracking data?
Absolutely, once you download the free tracking app you can see live location data on your smartphone, tablet or via the website. You will also be able to see historical locations for the past 60 days.
How will I know when to charge the tracker?
The app will notify you with a "low battery alert" message and tell you the exact amount of battery life left.
What alerts can I set up?
You can set up alerts for shock, speeding, moving, towing, low battery, geo-fences and tampering with the tracking device.
Is the tracker waterproof?
No, the tracker is only water resistant and not waterproof. It is rain and splash proof, but do not submerge the tracker.
What is the size and weight of the tracker?
It is 115mm long, 65mm wide and 25mm deep. It weighs 150 grams.
How strong is the magnet?
The magnet is an industrial strength magnet, and is designed to be extremely strong.
What can I put the tracking device on?
Because it is a portable tracker and does not require power, you can put the tracker on non-powered items. Examples include trailers, horse floats, boats, shipping containers, farm equipment, etc.
Does the GPS tracker have a speaker?
No, there is no speaker on the device, it cannot produce noise.
Does the GPS tracker have a microphone?
Yes, you can switch the GPS to "listen" instead of "track". This can be changed by sending a text message to the mobile number for the SIM inside the GPS tracker.
How do I know when the GPS tracker is charged?
The small light will go out when fully charged.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the GPS not responding to my SMS Messages?
This is the biggest obstacle our customers face when setting up their newly purchased GPS Unit. In order to get a response from your GPS and set it up, here are a few troubleshooting tips:
Ensure you’ve purchased a MOBILE DEVICE SIM that is activated with an SMS, Call & Data plan with 3GB or more. It is essential that you purchase a SIM with SMS functionality.
Insert the SIM as directed by the device imaging or video content. The right sized SIM inserted the correct way can be heard to ‘click’ into position. Note that if you’re not getting a response you may find success with removing the SIM, turning the device off, reinserting the SIM and turning the device back on and sending the SMS again.
If you’re certain you’ve got the right SIM and selected the correct (SMS compatible) plan and are still not getting responses after activating the SIM, put the SIM into a mobile phone and send an SMS back and forth with another device effectively ‘waking up’ the SIM for use.
If you’re using an iPhone/Apple device, if your SMS/Texts are going through blue in colour then disable iMessage in your settings to properly contact the device.
If you’re still unable to get a response from your device, please contact our customer support team at email@example.com with your order number, device IMEI/ID, the Mobile Number of the SIM you’ve purchased and the SIM Carrier you’ve chosen. Have the device charged, SIM inserted and then turn the device ON so our team can attempt to remotely troubleshoot your device.
How do I adjust the Timezone of my 3G Portable/Heavy & 4G Magnetic GPS?
Get on a PC/Mac and go to 2.tkstargps.net
Select IMEI/ID No login and enter your GPS ID and Password (default password: 123456)
When the GPS is correctly configured, it will display the unit locally to where you are and include GPS Model information, battery, time etc.
Select the MORE button and then TARGET INFO, this will open a window with multiple info points including 'Set Timezone'
Click 'Set Timezone' and adjust it to your location time, scrolling to the bottom of the window and clicking 'Save' to lock in your updated time.
Log out of the WINNES App and wait 1-2 minutes for the update to poll through, then reopen and relogin your app to confirm the correct time is displayed.
I’ve completed the SMS Setup by the device is still not appearing in the WINNES App
This is very rare, but there may be a solution other than ‘not working’ for this issue!
SMS the command check123456 to your device and view the responding text. After the blue highlighted ID of your device is displayed, IP Address should be listed
Text the command: adminip123456 18.104.22.168 7700
Text the setup commands again to complete your setup, the device should now be reconnected to the servers displaying your GPS location!
How do I activate the Listening Mode on 3G Portable/Heavy GPS?
1. To activate the one way communication on the GPS tracker, SMS the mobile number inside the GPS "monitor123456".
2. You'll receive back "monitor ok" making the GPS go into a listening mode which makes the device callable by the same SIM number.
3. Call the GPS and listen in. (Note: Quality is influenced by device placement)
4. When finished listening SMS "gprs123456" to revert the GPS back to tracking mode.
Please note the GPS can do one function at a time so if you are using the listening mode, you will not be able to track the vehicle.
