The 4G GPS Tracker comes with a FREE, lifetime subscription to the tracking app. Within the app, you set up alerts, geo-fences, and other notifications. Can a GPS tracker be detected?
There are two ways a car GPS tracker can be detected, by a high-quality bug detector or it is placed in a prominent spot. Both are not common.

Does a GPS tracker make a sound?
The 4G GPS Tracker does not make a sound, as it has no speaker or functionality to do so. It does, however, have two small LED lights to indicate power and cellular service, which you can cover with a small piece of tape.

How much data does a car GPS tracker use?
The amount of data the 4G GPS Tracker uses depends on how often you check in on its location. We recommend purchasing 2-3gb’s first and increasing if necessary.

How to configure for iPhone users:

    1. On iOS Devices, download the JIMI IoT Lab application from the App Store.

    2. Open the app and select ‘Connect’ at the bottom of the page

    3. On top-side of the device is a power status checking and bluetooth connection button. Press the button three times quickly until the device appears on the app menu and select it.

    4. At the bottom of this next screen, select ‘Command Mode’ at the bottom.

    5. Under the ‘Command password’ text box, click the ‘Command’ box and enter the text: APN,telstra.internet# 

    6. The device will confirm the setting and reboot.

    7. The device has been configured and can now be added to your Tracksolid Pro account.

How to configure for Android users:

  1. Send a text message to the GPS inserted SIM card (to the mobile number) with the following text: APN,telstra.internet# 

  2. The device will reply back with a confirmation and reboot within one minute

  3. The device has been configured and can now be added to your Tracksolid Pro account.

How to increase your Portable GPS Battery Life using 'Work Mode'

Our Portable Units have an average battery life of 15-20 days, this can be extended by weeks, months and even years by adjusting the work mode setting.

  1. Navigate to the website: https://hk.tracksolidpro.com/mainFrame 

  2. Login with the same account details as your existing Tracksolid Pro account

  3. Under the default tab at the top 'Monitor' you should see a list of your account registered devices below, including showing the tracking of your current GPS units.

  4. At the end of the device's name, there are three vertical dots that you can click to get more options to appear. Select 'Device Command'

  5. In the 'Device Command' drop down, select 'Work Mode'. 'Tracking Mode Interval' : There are two upload timers here, the first is how often the device pings the software while moving and the second is when static (not moving). By adjusting the (Moving) number upwards, you increase the time between tracking uploads, increasing battery life but reducing overall accuracy related to the time you set. The secondary tab in this 'Work Mode' is Power Saving Mode. This is the mode that gives you months / years of ongoing tracking, at the cost of only getting one location update per day.

Customise this section as you wish, you can increase battery life by increasing the time between uploads or opt for the Power Saving Mode which updates once per day.

How to turn your Portable GPS into a Wireless Hotspot

This command is a little complicated, but let’s break it down

Command : HOTSPOT,S,N,P#

HOTSPOT = What you’re trying to do

S = Sets the Hotspot Mode: 0 = Off, 1 = On when GPS is Active, 2 = On always

N = Name the WIFI Network, the default is the last four digits of your GPS ID/IMEI

P = Sets the WiFi Network password, default is 11111111

Example: HOTSPOT,2,Test,12345678
This example sets the Portable GPS to become an always on hotspot appearing with the name of ‘Test’ and a password of 12345678.
